Have you ever really
considered, to what extremes
you would go, in order to protect yourself?
Everyone
is different on this level, everyone has a different idea and that’s fine but I
do urge you to consider what your limits are.
You must ask yourself “How
far would I go to protect myself? Could I do whatever it takes if I was put in
a position of life or death?
Many people will be thinking
“of course I could it if I had to”. However, not only is everyone different but
every situation is different. You have to know in your mind that if your life
is threatened then you can and will do whatever it takes to protect yourself.
Do you have the intestinal
fortitude to stick your fingers deep into an attacker’s eyes?
Again, many people are more
willing to protect their children than themselves, they would not think twice
about throwing themselves into the path pf danger for their child. This type of
emotion is so strong, you have to find it and use it to save yourself.
Keep in mind that many
criminal minded people would not think twice about picking up a hammer and
smashing you between your eyes. The consequences of physical or sexual attacks
are often severe. If you are lucky enough to survive, they can leave physical
and mental scars to last a lifetime. When it comes down to making a choice
between a stay in intensive care, ending up at the local cemetery or doing
whatever it takes in order to survive, the choice should be simple.
Know in your mind that, if
necessary, you would be prepared to pick up a nearby object and use it to
assist in your self protection. Know that you could stick your fingers deep
into an attacker’s eye socket in order to save yourself. Know that you would
strike an attacker to the throat, with the possibility that he has already
taken his last breath. Not all situations are going require that type of
response but when your life is in danger, be prepared to do whatever you need
to do.
If someone has crossed that
line and you are the intended victim of an unprovoked attack or sexual assault
of any kind, then you have every right to do whatever it takes to protect
yourself. No one has the right to hurt you.
Over the next few articles,
I will be covering many of these areas. The first article will cover the need
to have the belief in yourself that you can be effective in Self Defense
regardless of your size and strength.
